I’m back from vacation. It was good, outside of having to work more than I would have cared to do so. While I was gone, I programmed in one post per day to keep the site up. I’ve thought about that course of action while away, and I’m starting to think it was a bad thing to do.

One the one hand, there’s pretty clearly a thought line of publish or perish; if you don’t update your blog regularly, people stop coming by. On the other hand, if all you’re doing is link farming, then people will also stop coming by (unless you’re Glenn Reynolds and have copious free time on your hands). And that’s not me.

So, I’m leaning towards a different path. I’m not going to throw up the random stuff on which I happen to stumble — or, at least, I’m not going to do it here (feel free to browse my delicious bookmarks if you’re interested). What I’m going to do here is try to write longer(-ish) essays and other long form things that interest me (like the Idea Factory).

Long story short: less posts, more quality. Or, at least, that’s my sales pitch…
